The activity consists in discussing examples of evaluation (diagnosis) and management of medical cases in occupational medicine and legal medicine.

The main goal of AFP are to give informations and a methodology in the diagnosis of main traumatic injuries differentiating them from natural diseases and in the identification of occupational diseases with a special focus on differential diagnosis

Frequency of classroom taught lessons

Educational workshops: a) exercise on the evaluation and management of clinical cases in occupational medicine given as examples: clinical cases are illustrated and some data are provided, on the basis of which the student, together with the teacher, must indicate how to evaluate and manage the patient (worker); b) discussion on clinical cases and articles from scientific journals also through the guided consultation of appropriate websites (ACGIH, INAIL, NIOSH, Ministry of Health, etc.)

Oral examination (with mark

During the course will be discussed several clinical cases according to the main topics.

Examples of clinical cases related to loads manual handling and diseases/disorders of the lumbar spine.
Provided data: age, job duties, medical history, symptoms.
Evaluation and management of the patient-worker: identification of relevant data for diagnosis purpose, clinical examination, diagnostic hypotheses, instrumental examinations to be requested, assessment of work suitability, eventual medical treatment
