Il corso ha l'obiettivo di esporre allo studente gli elementi essenziali della diagnosi e, soprattutto, dell'approccio terapeutico, in urgenza ed emergenza, alle seguenti malattie: bradi e tachiaritmie, emorragia intracranica e ictus ischemico, emorragia gastrointestinale, encefalopatia epatica, sindrome epato-renale, riacutizzazione di asma e BPCO, sepsi e shock settico ed emorragia critica. Inoltre, il corso ha la finalità di presentare e discutere le modalità di esecuzione delle seguenti procedure invasive diagnostico-terapeutiche in urgenza: inserimento di catetere venoso centrale, pericardiocentesi, cardioversione / defibrillazione, pacing cardiaco esterno, pulsossimetria / emogasanalisi, ventilazione con pallone valvolato e maschera, puntura lombare, paracentesi, toracentesi, inserimento di drenaggio pleurico.

Il Corso si propone di far acquisire agli studenti conoscenze e competenze delle principali patologie internistiche acute.
Lo studente, al termine del corso, avrà acquisito conoscenze in ordine ai principali quadri clinici di competenza medica internistica osservati nel dipartimento di emergenza e accettazione. Il corso consente l’acquisizione di competenze fondamentali per la gestione terapeutica delle principali malattie di interesse medico che causano il ricovero in emergenza.

Aver superato gli esami del IV e V anno, inclusa la farmacologia.

Lezioni frontali con discussione di casi clinici reali. Simulazione di casi clinici con possibilità da parte degli studenti di richiedere esami di laboratorio ed esami strumentali, proporre la diagnosi e decidere la terapia. La frequenza alle lezioni ed alle esercitazioni pratiche è obbligatoria e sarà registrata tramite app. È richiesto almeno il 75% della frequenza per accedere all'esame di profitto

La prova orale si prefigge di valutare la conoscenza degli argomenti dell'insegnamento. La prova orale sarà valutata in trentesimi. Il voto finale è espresso come 30/30, dove 18/30 è il punteggio minimo e 30/30 il punteggio massimo. Il voto finale è la media dei voti conseguiti agli esami dei moduli dei Corso integrato

The course aims to describe the basic concepts on the diagnosis of, and most importantly, the therapeutic approach, in the emergency setting, to the following diseases: bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias, intracranial hemorrhage and ischemic stroke, GI bleeding, hepatic encephalopathy, hepato-renal syndrome, COPD and asthma exacerbations, sepsis/septic shock, critical bleeding. Furthermore, teaching aims to present and discuss how to perform the following invasive diagnostic-therapeutic procedures in the emergent setting: and to perform the following procedures: central vein cannulation, pericardiocentesis, cardioversion / defibrillation, external cardiac pacing, pulse oximetry / arterial blood gas analysis, bag-valve mask ventilation, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, chest tube insertion.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The Course aims to provide students with knowledge and skills of the main acute internal pathologies.
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired knowledge regarding the main clinical frameworks of internistic medical expertise observed in the emergency and acceptance department. The course allows the acquisition of fundamental skills for the therapeutic management of the main diseases of medical interest that cause emergency hospitalization.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student will be able to make an initial clinical assessment and management of the acute patient.

The student will develop the ability for rapid diagnostic framing.

Having passed 4th and 5th year exams, including pharmacology.

Lectures with discussion of clinical cases. Simulation of clinical cases with the possibility for students to request laboratory tests and instrumental tests, propose the diagnosis and decide on therapy. Attendance at lessons and practical exercises is mandatory and will be recorded via the app. A minimum of 75% of attendance is required to enter the profit exam

The oral exam aims to evaluate the knowledge of the teaching topics. The oral exam will be evaluated in thirtieths. The final grade is expressed as 30/30, where 18/30 is the minimum score and 30/30 is the maximum score. The final grade is the average of the grades obtained in the exams of the modules of the Integrated Course
