    Obiettivi formativi

    • processi di differenziamento e crescita;
    • sviluppo del corpo umano e correlazioni cliniche (embriologia).

    Prerequisiti

L'esame scritto consiste in

    Course objectives

This course aims to provide nursing students with the
    scientific understanding of human embryology.
The main purpose of the course is to provide students with a
understanding and knowledge of the main mechanisms of differentiation and development of the human body.
Students should have an understanding of the following:
    • processes of differentiation and growth;
    • development of the human body and clinical correlations.
    Students should be able to:
    1. describe the development of different systems and organs
    2. describe the main teratogenic mechanisms and how malformations affect morphology and functionality.

    Prerequisites

The student should know the structure and function of the cell, which
are part of the Biology course.

    Teaching methods

Students will receive regular lessons on embryology.
In addition, students will be taught how to build a presentation and
they will have to present in front of the class about a malformation of their choice

    Evaluation methods

The assessment of students' competence is based on a written test
to evaluate the basic knowledge of embryology. The written exam consists of
    thirty multiple-choice questions where the
student has thirty minutes in total to answer. The questions concern the aspects
of embryonic and fetal development, as well as malformations and diseases. The questions will be so specific to evaluate the
basic knowledge of the subject. This means that the student must
know the key steps from fertilization to the formation of the
embryo and the development of all systems, the most relevant malformations
and diseases of the fetus and mother. To pass the written test, the student
must get a score of at least 18 (1 point for each exact question, 0 for mistake).

    Other information

Book and all material (including lectures slides) are provided as ebook by
the University Library, the link will be provided to the students during the
    first lecture of the course
